YWCA Opens Turner Street Branch
The YWCA shows off its new branch on Turner Street this morning. This is the old YMCA, which became so tied up in financial problems it had to close. The YWCA picked up the ball and started it rolling again.
The group has done some renovations and is hoping to expand services. That includes their popular indoor pool.
This new facility is offering services for children, too. And, they say they’re hoping to offer services to those who had been loyal patrons of the “Y.”
Their home base in Alexandria is on James Street near Ash.
