Young Woman Arrested at Walmart for Shoplifting & Drugs

Alexandria police say they’ve arrested a young woman for shoplifting and possession of drugs. She is 21-year-old Katie Sparks of the Elmer community. She’s accused of taking items from Wal-mart and carrying meth, pills and drug paraphernalia.

APD officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart on North Mall Drive. The Wal-Mart’s Loss Prevention Officers had a shoplifter in custody.  When officers arrived, the investigation found that while shopping, Sparks concealed several items in her purse which included DVD’s and clothing items.

A search was done by “Loss Prevention” that resulted in finding suspected Methamphetamine, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia on her person.

Sparks was also charged with an outstanding warrant through RPSO for Possession of CDS Sch 2 Narcotics. Katie Sparks was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center for Booking.
