Workshop Held on Hurricane Preparedness
Hurricane season starts in a little more than a week.
The State Office of Emergency Preparedness recently brought the military up to date on planning for a disaster.
Today villages, towns and cities have sent representatives to learn what can be done when disasters loom.
Experts say one of the biggest lessons learned nine years ago from Katrina is the need for communication among various groups. Participants also learned about the legalities of disasters, technology and how local governments can be reimbursed for their expenses.
