Woman Arrested for Striking Juvenile on Mouth

class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-39163″ src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Jana-Leeann-Salmon-mug.jpg” alt=”Jana-Leeann-Salmon-mug” width=”200″ height=”259″ />On July 31st, 2014 a complaint was made with the Tioga Sub-station in reference to a possible cruelty to juveniles incident in the Deville area.  The complainant stated that the juvenile victim was struck in the mouth by the suspect, identified as Jana Leeann Salmon, 28 of Deville.

Deputies attempted to make contact with the suspect but were unable to locate.  The case was assigned to the Tioga Detectives for investigation and during the investigation, the juvenile victim was interviewed along with another family member.  Detectives were able to develop enough probable cause to support the allegations and warrants were obtained for Salmon.

On August 1st, 2014, Salmon was located at her residence, taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on the outstanding warrants for 1 count Cruelty to a Juvenile and 1 count Domestic Abuse Battery.  Salmon was later released on a $6500.00 bond.

The juvenile remains with other family members at this time.
