Vitter speaks at VFW Convention Over the Weekend

A newly announced candidate for governor visits here over the weekend.  US Senator David Vitter, who last week announced he’s a candidate for governor to succeed Bobby Jindal, paid a visit to the VFW mid-winter convention in Alexandria.

Almost 400 members gathered for workshops, awards and speeches.  They heard from the Senator and from a past national commander, Glenn Gardner of Texas.

The 3-day meeting concluded Sunday.  Among the invited guests were the VA hospital director.
