Veteran’s Day

flagWherever you are tomorrow in Central Louisiana, there’s an opportunity to honor veterans.

A ceremony on Highway 1 at the Veterans Monument in Marksville will feature a 21-gun salute.

A traditional ceremony at the VA Medical Center Auditorium begins at 10 a.m. in Pineville, which is followed by a parade at 11 a.m., concluding with a hot-dog picnic.

Vets and active military get to eat free jambalaya tomorrow at Veteran’s Day Jam at LSUA; that’s 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the quad.

And as always, Texas Roadhouse will offer a free steak to vets and active military. That’s 11 a.m.to 2 p.m.  at the Texas Roadhouse in Alexandria.

There’s a special event in Winn Parish at noon at C-Bo’s Restaurant; It’s sponsored by the Winnfield Rotary Club.

The Tribute and Wreath-laying ceremony at City Hall is at 1:30 p.m. with Staff Sergeant Nathan Akridge to deliver the address.  That’s at the Veterans Memorial Plaza which faces Third Street in downtown Alexandria.
