VA Conducts “Stand Down” To Help Homeless Veterans

The VA Hospital conducts what it calls a Stand Down. The medical center is offering services to homeless veterans. This is the 11th year for the homeless stand down.

Experts offered medical services, scans and immunizations. Others were there to help these veterans with a search for homes, jobs and job training.

This outreach program was co-sponsored by the Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition. These volunteers say many area residents are unaware of how many homeless veterans are in need of help.
