THIRD UPDATE: Seventh Suspect Arrested in Duhon Lane Shooting

UPDATE Press Release – The 16-year-old suspect that was previously arrested on September 21 has been re-arrested on new charges in connection with the shooting death on Duhon Lane on September 20. He was charged today with First Degree Murder and Armed Robbery with a Firearm and was booked into the Renaissance Detention Facility. In addition, a 33-yeard-old woman, Mary Alexander of Alexandria, was charged with Accessory After the Fact in connection with the shooting. She was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center

UPDATE Press Release – Suspects Donerious Roy and Devontae Chisem have been taken into custody, both this afternoon. Both are being booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

 

UPDATE Press Release – Two additional suspects have been charged in the September 20 shooting death on Duhon Lane. On Friday, September 22, a 14-year-old was arrested by APD detectives and charged in connection with the shooting, and was booked into a juvenile facility. On Saturday, Marcel Jones, 19, of Alexandria, was arrested on a warrant for Armed Robbery with a Firearm and First Degree Murder, and was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Detectives are still seeking two additional suspects with active warrants related to the shooting. Donerious Roy, 17, and Devontae Chism, 19, both of Alexandria, are wanted for Armed Robbery with a Firearm and First Degree Murder. ORIGINAL Press Release – On September 20, around 11 pm, APD officers responded to the area of Richard Ave and Duhon Lane, to a report of a male being shot. Medical help was summoned and the 19-year-old was transported to an area hospital, but later succumbed to his injury. The investigation led to a vacant residence in the 3900 block of Duhon Lane, where the shooting took place.

Detectives worked throughout the night and following morning interviewing several people in relation to the case, as well as processing the crime scene. During the investigation, two suspects were identified and taken into custody without incident. One was identified as Brian Booker-Allen, 17, of Alexandria, who was charged with Armed Robbery with a Firearm and First Degree Murder. The second suspect, a 16-year-old, has also been charged in connection with this investigation.

The investigation continues, and detectives are still pursuing leads. No further details are available at this time.
