“Tree of Life” On Display at Rapides Regional

TreeofLife2A special sculpture is delivered to Rapides Women and Children’s Hospital.  This “Tree of Life” was created by participants in the John Eskew Project.

This project at River Oaks directs developmentally disabled clients ages 17 to 35 in art projects.  The instructors say it’s a healing and creative outlet for teens and young adults.

The sculpture they’ve created will go on tour.

The sculpture uses ceramics and painting skills.  Students even used shredded paper, the material they work with in their work place at the training center.  Their names and inspirations are included in this special piece.

TreeofLife1Sponsors include the Martin Foundation, Decentralized Arts Fund, Rotary Foundation, the Louisiana Charitable Trust, Petron and individual donors.
