Tours Given of Lecompte High School Museum
The past came alive this morning at the Lecompte High School Museum Tour.
Docents and graduates of the high school served as guides, telling the stories of the early days of the town.
It’s part of the “Every Hero Has a Story, 2015 Reading Program”. Organizers say it gives a glimpse into the lives of the men and women who worked hard to build what we call home.
The tour covered the entire school, including walks through the Century Room, old classrooms, and the Rural Life Room, which are all filled with letters, photos, and clothes.
Lecompte High School served more than 700 students shortly after opening its doors in 1925.
