The Beauty of Vernon Parish Photo Competition

It’s time to start gathering up those photographs taken since July 16, 2014 for the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce’s “Beauty of Vernon Parish” Photo Competition.  Attached is a copy of the rules and official entry form.  Contest entry deadline is July 15, 2015.

Twelve finalists will be selected and featured in our 2016 Chamber of Commerce Calendar.  Of the selected twelve finalists, one Grand Prize Winner will be named and an award will be presented at a Chamber of Commerce Award Ceremony at Gallery One Ellleven, on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at 6:00 pm.  All Finalists will have their photos framed and displayed at Gallery One Ellleven in Leesville for the month of August. 

Note:  Entries must be a minimum of 8” x 10” (recommended size) printed on matte or gloss paper.

So, get your camera out, snap some pictures and send the Vernon Chamber of Commerce your photos of “The Beauty of Vernon Parish” and maybe one of your entries will win you $500 and be featured on the front cover of the Chamber’s 2016 Calendar.

Contest Rules:

1. Contest open to anyone, no age limit. Contestants may submit as many entries as desired. Chamber employees and their immediate family presently living in their household are not eligible to enter.   Photos should reflect the Theme “The Beauty of Vernon Parish” and must have been taken in Vernon Parish during the period of 07/16/14—07/15/2015.
2. Photos may or may not include people. If a winning photo has identifiable people, a written release must be obtained by the identifiable person prior to the photo being used by the Chamber. Land in photos may be publicly or privately owned.
3. Entry form must accompany each entry. Entry fees are: $12 for the first entry, $5 for each entry after the first. Entry forms may be picked up from the Chamber of Commerce, 1309 N. 5th Street in Leesville, or by requesting a fax form by calling 337-238-0349. You can fax a request for an entry form to 337-238-0340. Or email the Chamber of Commerce a request for an entry form at chambervernonparish@hotmail.com.
4. Entries must be a minimum of 8”x10” (recommended size) printed on matte or gloss paper. Minimal photo-shop and digital editing, please. Photographers should retain negatives or digital copies of their entries. Entry form with all information should be taped to the back of each entry.
5. You must select a category from the following six choices for each photo submitted: (1)Flowers                                        (2)Architecture  (3)Lakes & Streams  (4)Recreation & Leisure  (5)Fields & Forests  (6)The Animal World
6. Entries are to be mailed or hand delivered to the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 1228, 1309 North 5^th Street, Leesville, LA 71496. Entries must be postmarked on or before July 15, 2015 or hand delivered to the Chamber office by that date.
7. Twelve winning photos will be selected, two (2) from each category. One Grand Prize Winner will be awarded $500 and be featured on the cover of the 2016 Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce “Beauty of Vernon Parish” calendar. Eleven honorable mentions and the Grand Prize Winner will have their photos framed and displayed at Gallery One Ellleven in Leesville for the month of August. Grand Prize Winner will be announced at a Chamber of Commerce Award Ceremony at Gallery One Ellleven, Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at 6:00 PM.
8. By entering this contest, you agree to allow the use of the photo by the Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce for promotional and reproduction at no cost to the Chamber. Void where prohibited and subject to all federal state and local laws.
