Students in Rapides Parish Return to School Today

Summer is officially over for students in Rapides and many other parishes. School bus drivers, principals and teachers were all at their posts bright and early to greet the students. We caught up with these returning kids in Pineville.

Teachers, with the help in some cases of parents, have been working for days to get the classrooms ready.

Schools in the parish have different starts and end times, ranging from 7:20 am until 3:30 pm. Parents can find more information on the website for the Rapides Parish School System.

Students are in class for another two and a half weeks, when they’ll have their first vacation day, Labor Day on Monday, September 1st.

In Rapides Parish there are 50 schools with more than 24 thousand students. The superintendent will have an accurate student count for this term at a later time.
