Student Dies After School Fight at Natchitoches Central
One student has died, another will be charged with manslaughter after a school fight at Natchitoches Central.
18-year-old Johnquaries Smith, an outside linebacker for the school football team was in critical condition on life support at University Medical in Shreveport and passed away about 11:30 this morning. He was flown there after the fight, which Natchitoches Police say happened around 12:30 yesterday afternoon.
A 16-year-old is under arrest and will be charged with manslaughter. He’s now in a detention center. The district attorney will decide if the suspect is tried as an adult.
Authorities are not releasing any details on the incident or if a weapon was used.
