State DARE Officers Train in Cenla

DAREconference2DARE officers from throughout the state are training in Central Louisiana today through tomorrow. These officers are the first line of defense against drugs around schools. They share stories about students who even turn in their family members who are dealing drugs out of fear for other family members.

DAREconference1Rapides Parish Sheriff William Earl Hilton says DARE is an important part of the efforts against drugs.

Hilton was the keynote speaker for the conference.

DARE means Drug Abuse Resistance Education. It was established in 1983 in Los Angeles and has spread across the nation and the world.

This is the 23rd training conference.
