Same-Sex Benefits Extended to Fort Polk Personnel

The Defense Department says it will extend same-sex benefits to members of the armed services and civilian employees.  This will apply to Fort Polk.

The Defense Department says this is in line with the recent Supreme Court ruling striking down a section of the Defense of Marriage Act.  The benefits will begin no later than September 3rd.
