The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office breaks up what appears to be a very large and organized dog-fighting ring.  34-year-old John Daniels of Beaumont, Texas and 30-year-old Frank Williams of Alexandria are arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and dog fighting.

Authorities say they received a complaint about suspicious activity at an abandoned house on the south end of Alexandria.  They say they discovered 16 vehicles in the back yard.  And after further investigation, they say they located a dog-fighting ring just outside the home.  Officials say they seized the vehicles and three pit bulls were taken to a local animal control.

“Dog fighting is not only cruelty, but it is against the law.  This type of criminal activity will not be tolerated in our parish.  Our detectives are going to follow every lead they can to get to the bottom of this,” said Sheriff William Earl Hilton.  “I also want to commend the Alexandria Police Department, the Pineville Police Department and the Louisiana State Police for their assistance in this investigation”

From the information RPSO has so far, this discovery implicates a possible multi state dog-fighting ring.  RPSO Detectives say the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected with more charges pending.  Anyone with information regarding this dog fighting ring on Gene Ball Drive are encouraged to contact Detective James Owens or Detective Winston Bell Jr. at 318-473-6727.
