Return To The 50’s Classic Car Show

Returntothe50sNATCHITOCHES – The Seventh Annual Return to the 50’s Classic Car Show will be held Friday, pharmacy October 4, and Saturday, October 5, 2013 in downtown Natchitoches.  The event, sponsored by the Natchitoches Historic District Business Association, is expected to bring in more than 300 classic vehicles to downtown Natchitoches.

The Car Show kicks off on Friday, October 4, at 12:00 p.m. with a seven-stop poker run.  Friday evening, a fish fry and live music entertainment will take place on the downtown riverbank for registered participants.

Classic cars will be on display on Front Street and the downtown riverbank Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Entertainers will perform on three stages in downtown historic Natchitoches throughout the day.  Admission for spectators is free.

The Return to the 50’s Classic Car Show will also include activities such as Wrap the Car, Split the Pot and a Wipeout Board to benefit the Kasey Joelle Ragan Memorial Fund.  The fund raises awareness and funding for youth who attend Louisiana Lions Camp, a unique summer camp for mentally and physically challenged and diabetic youth.

In conjunction with the Return to the 50’s Classic Car Show, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum will host “Fast Times on Front Street” featuring Louisiana motor sports legend L.W. “Knot” Farrington from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5.  Farrington built and drove his modified 1956 Ford Thunderbird to a world land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.  Admission to the museum is $5 for adults and $4 for students, seniors and active military personnel.  Children 12 and under are admitted free.
