A plaque in honor of Anne Frank was also added during the ceremony. Anne’s diary lives on, giving young people the chance to see the history of the holocaust.
Today’s special guest was the grandson of General George Patton, who trained in Central Louisiana. He and other generals laid the plans for the invasion of Normandy in the Bentley Hotel.
The worldwide remembrance is designed to make sure the world never forgets those who died in World War Two.
