Remembering Katrina: Storm’s 8th Anniversary Today

KatrinaToday is the 8th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

The deadly storm forever changed New Orleans when it made landfall and claimed more than 15 hundred lives and damaged more than 200 thousand homes.  The storm displaced millions of people in the Gulf Region.

It’s considered the most expensive disaster in the history of the global insurance industry.  The federal government spent more than 120 billion dollars on the gulf region, post-Katrina.
