Prompt Succor Students Decorate Pumpkins in “Pumpkin Project”
Third grade students at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School have what is called a Pumpkin Project.
Students decorate their own pumpkins and write an essay related to their pumpkin and are then divided into different categories. The categories can be characters, food, or something similar to the spirit of Halloween. Once they’ve created their pumpkins, they are then judged by six different categories that they were given.
Teachers say this is a great project because it allows them to combine their artistic side with the teacher’s writing curriculum.
