Alexandria, La. (May 18, 2020) — As part of the Phase 1 reopening plan, The City of Alexandria is now allowing limited public access to the Utility Customer Service Building, located at 625 Murray Street downtown, with safety restrictions in place.
Customers seeking to pay their utility bill should continue to use the drive-thru window, dropbox or pay by mail, online or at any First Federal Bank of Louisiana location. The teller windows for utility payments inside the building remain closed until further notice. Also, garbage bags are not available at this time. Customers are asked to hold on to their garbage bag stubs and they will be honored when normal operations resume.
Customers needing to meet in-person for permits, planning and other matters may be admitted during regular business hours between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with the following safety precautions in place:
· Masks Required – All persons entering the Customer Service Building are required to have on a face mask covering the nose and mouth.
· Temperature checks – All persons entering the Customer Service Building are required to have their temperature taken. If an individual’s temperatures is 100.4 or higher, that person will not be allowed to enter the building.
· 10-Person limit – Only 10 customers will be allowed in the lobby at one time.
· Screening questions – Customers will be asked a series of questions related to COVID-19 before they will be allowed to enter building.
