Pineville Man Arrested for Firing Gun

On September 20th 2014, APD Officers arrested Daniel Ellsworth, 24 of Pineville and charged him with: 1ct-Illegal Discharging of Firearm and 1ct-Felon in Possession of Firearm.

At approximately1:51A.M., An APD Officer was working a detail in the 2000 Block of North Mall Drive when he heard several gunshots in the Sterkx Road and North Mall Drive Area. The officer called into Dispatch reporting the incident and proceeded to where he heard the gunshots.

The officer saw two subjects attempt to hide behind a building at this location and took them into custody. The investigating resulted in officers locating a handgun on Ellsworth person and determined Ellsworth did fire the shots. There were no reported injuries.

The second subject was identified as Charles L. Pellum III 26 of Alexandria. Pellum was arrested on 1ct-Fail to Pay Fine (RPSO Warrant).

Both men were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for Booking.

This incident is still under investigation and there are no other details available for release at this time.
