The Amtrak train took more than a hundred civic and government VIP’s to Mississippi and on to Florida. It was billed as the Gulf Coast Passenger Rail Inspection Trip.
State officials are working to restore rail service on this route and in North Louisiana from Dallas to Meridian and on to Atlanta.
