Parents, Others Rally to Oppose Common Core

State Representative Lance Harris sponsored the meeting with a group of other legislators opposed to common core.
Common core is an educational plan proposed several years ago by governors who said they wanted consistent curriculums among the states, so they could check their schools’ progress efficiently. However, opponents have called it government overreach, including Governor Jindal.
