NSU to host regional history bee and bowl

class=”alignleft wp-image-20066″ style=”margin: 2px 4px;” alt=”Northwestern_State_University_of_Louisiana” src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Northwestern_State_University_of_Louisiana.png” width=”160″ height=”160″ />NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will host the Northern Louisiana National History Bee and Bowl Saturday, March 1 at Watson Library beginning at 9 a.m. Admission to the event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Participating schools include Winnfield Middle School, Riverdale Academy, Airline High School in Bossier and St. Mary’s of Natchitoches.

The National History Bee and Bowl are buzzer-based individual and team competitions where students face off by answering questions about history from around the world. Students compete in the varsity or the junior varsity division depending on their grade level. The tournament began in 2010 to promote history education throughout the United States.

Students compete to qualify for the National Championships in April in Washington D.C. and Arlington, Va.
