NSU lists summer aquatics
NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State University pool at the Recreation Complex is now open and several aquatics activities are available for the public.
Regular
A two-weekend lifeguard course will be offered the weekends of May 15 and May 22. The class is $250 and open to the community for new certification and renewals. Applications are available by contacting Davis.
A junior lifeguard course will be offered from 10 a.m.-noon the weeks of June 16 and June 23. The classes will be Tuesday-Friday. The cost is $100.
Learn To Swim classes will be held Tuesday-Friday the weeks of June 2, June 9, June 16 and June 24. Fifty-minute classes start at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at a cost of $50 per week. Private lessons will be available during the month of July for $75 per week and can be scheduled through Davis or a class instructor.
Water exercise or fitness swim is available for $50 per month beginning June 2. Water exercise classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with an instructor. Fitness swim will be from 7-9 a.m. Tuesday-Friday with a lifeguard on duty, but no instructor. Anyone who needs assistance with a workout can contact Davis and set up an appointment.
