New Red River Bridge Named Curtis-Coleman Bridge

During the last legislative session, State Representative Herbert Dixon waited until the last minute to have the project named after the late Bo Curtis and Lemon Coleman, a former Pineville councilman.
Representative Dixon says the project is historic because the bridge is named after respected African Americans.
The old bridge was named the O.K. Allen Bridge after a former Louisiana governor. Dixon has taken criticism for the new name because people were concerned the name change was made through a surprise bill.
