New Rapides Registrar Sworn In

class=”aligncenter size-full wp-image-44676″ src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/newregistrar.jpg” alt=”newregistrar” width=”500″ height=”251″ />A new Rapides Parish Registrar of Voters takes over today and it’s an office once held by her late father.

Lynn Dice Stewart takes the oath of office from State Judge Tom Yeager on the courthouse steps. She succeeds Joanell Wilson who retired. Stewart has been serving as a deputy registrar.

Her late father, the Reverend B.G. Dice, who also served as a state senator after retirement, ran the office for decades.

This will be a big year to take over. Major statewide and congressional elections are scheduled for October.
