New Prison Chapel Going Up in Grant Parish

Sheriff McCain, along with several ministers from Grant parish broke ground on a new chapel that will sit next to the Grant Parish Detention Center.

This was accomplished by residents and churches throughout the parish working together to raise the funds. In a little less than eight months they were able to raise the money to build the chapel that will be built in five to six days by a group of men called the Kingdom Builders.

Sheriff McCain says the parish is excited about what this will bring.

In addition to this new chapel, Warden Burl Cain from Angola has agreed to let one inmate, who is an ordained minister, relocate to Grant parish and lead the church.

Although the building will be finished rather quickly, Sheriff McCain says it will be at least 45 days before they have their first service.
