Natchitoches Police Say 15-Year-Old had AK47-Style Firearm
(Press Release) The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a juvenile on Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of 1205 Texas Street (Super Stop).
On July 24, 2016 around 2:57 p.m., Officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to 1205 Texas Street (Super Stop) in reference to a shooting. Melvin Pye Jr. (B/M, age 21 of Natchitoches) remained on scene and notified the Natchitoches Police Department that he was approached by a juvenile who had a firearm in his possession. The juvenile (B/M, age 15 of Natchitoches) was shot several times while in the parking lot and was in possession of the 7.62×39 mm caliber AK-47 style firearm pictured below.

No charges will be filed at this time and there will be no further press releases or information disseminated until the District Attorney’s Office has the opportunity to review the case.
