“You will hear music by Beethoven and Mozart performed just as these composers would have heard, on a horn with no valves,” said Coreil, who plays on a Seraphinoff copy of a 1740 Halari horn, popular in Europe throughout the 18th century. “This horn maker was a fixture in the musical world of Paris for decades.”

Other performers include faculty members Dr. Francis Yang, Dr. Andrej Kurti, Terrie Sanders, Paul Christopher and students Mario Torres and Daniella Martinez.    The recital will include the Beethoven Sonata in F for Horn and Piano, Saint-Saens’s Romance, opus 36, for horn, Schubert’s Auf dem Strom for soprano, horn, and piano, and Mozart’s Horn Quintet, K. 407, for horn, violin, violas, and cello.
