McAllister Holds Town Hall Meeting

Incumbent 5th District Congressman Vance McAllister holds a town hall meeting this morning. Lately he’s been touting his support for a solution to the immigration crisis and assistance for vets.

Though he had initially announced he would not run for re-election because of a marital scandal, he later changed his mind. He now faces six other challengers, mostly Republicans like him.

He’s on a whirlwind tour of the sprawling district.

Qualifying begins Wednesday for the primary election on November 4th. Run-off elections will be held in December.

Though McAllister continues to poll well in the district, his campaign finance numbers have not been so good.
