Mardi Gras Events Draw Large Crowds in CenLA
There were several Mardi Gras parades to attend this weekend in Alexandria.
Classic
On Saturday, children from all over Central Louisiana gathered to catch beads as the Alexandria Children’s Parade moved down Jackson Street. Every year the children’s parade has school marching bands and the regular Krewe floats but with a twist: children are the ones tossing beads and candy with adults.
The Krewe Parade was the final event of the weekend and people say it was a lot of fun to watch the people rolling down Texas Avenue yesterday. The parade started at two o’clock and while it may have been a bit overcast, the rain held up until after the parade was done.
