Police Shoot Man During Domestic Disturbance Situation

One man is dead after authorities respond to an apparent domestic disturbance.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a home on the outskirts of Pineville on the 300 block of Iris Park Drive around ten o’clock this morning.

We caught up with Sheriff Hilton to hear what he has to say about the incident.

Deputies say they were responding to a disturbance where the suspect was threatening to take his own life and someone in the home.

After an hour of negotiations, the man pointed a gun at authorities and a deputy shot him in the chest. Authorities say they are waiting to notify family members before they release his name.
