Troopers say as evidence surfaced, investigators concluded 34-year-old Eric Bergeaux was actually the driver of the vehicle, and he was impaired at the time of the crash.
The accident killed 42-year-old Joseph Joseph II and happened in Acadia Parish. Bergeaux is now charged with vehicular homicide.
