Man Arrested for Attempted Murder Over Weekend

class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-39150″ src=”” alt=”Wayne-Jackson-mug” width=”169″ height=”225″ />APD Detectives are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on August 2nd 2014.  APD Officers were in the 2600 Block of Willow Glenn Road on an unrelated traffic matter when they heard a gunshot. Upon investigating, Officers located a male subject in the 2900 Block of Willow Glenn Road that had been shot.

The victim told of Officers that a man pulled a gun and shot him following an argument they were involved in. The suspect, later identified as Wayne Jackson, was located nearby and taken into custody.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Wayne Jackson, 63 of Alexandria LA was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and Booked on 1ct-Attempted Second Degree Murder.

This investigation is ongoing and no other details are being released at this time.
