LSU Of Alexandria To Crown A New Ms. LSUA
class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-35861″ style=”margin: 2px 4px;” alt=”LSUA-New” src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/LSUA-New.png” width=”273″ height=”97″ />ALEXANDRIA, LA – Five LSU of Alexandria students will compete for the title of Ms. LSUA in the 54th competition scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 7:00pm. The event will be in the Brumfield Caffey Annex Ballroom.
The contestants include: Kayla Nicole Armwood, a junior Kinesiology major from Jackson, MS; Elizabeth Felix, a sophomore Mathematics major from Forest Hill; Brittany Marie LaGrange, a junior Biology major from Marksville; Bethani Taylor McDowell, a freshman Elementary Education major from Winnfield; and Kabrina Lyn Tyler, a sophomore Psychology major from Breaux Bridge.
The winner receives a $1,500 scholarship and will represent the university at official functions throughout the 2014-15 school year. The Ms. LSUA first runner-up receives a $1000 scholarship and the second runner-up receives a $500 scholarship. Other awards are presented for Scholastic Achievement, Ms. Congeniality, Ms. Photogenic, People’s Choice and Director’s Award.
The Ms. LSUA Pageant is open to all female students regardless of age or marital status. Contestants will compete in casual and evening wear categories and answer a question pertaining to their platform topics. Each contestant will have participated in an interview with three judges from the community prior to the pageant. All participants have a mentor from the university faculty or staff.
The reigning Ms. LSUA, Kaitlyn Nichols, a sophomore Biology major from Gulfport, MS, will participate in the pageant and crown her successor. Sarah Black, Director of University Relations, will emcee the event.
Tickets are available for $6. LSUA students may attend for $3. Tickets are available at the door or through the Office of Auxiliary Services on campus.
