Local High School Students Participate in Oral Competition
High school students from six schools in the parish competed in an oral competition.
The Alexandria Optimist Club had its annual contest at the Westside Regional Library. This year’s subject of the contest was “How my optimism will help me press on to greater achievements of the future.”
Three students from each school gained experience speaking in front of the public and media. They even had the chance to win some money.
The 2015 first-place winners are Willow Scalisi of ASH and Stanley Abishek of Pineville High.
After this competition, they will perform for the Regional Honors in Hornbeck on March 27th.
