Lawman of the Year

Every year the Alexandria Kiwanis Club hands out high honors to those who support the club’s mission – the well-being of children.

Few in the community are as important to children as police officers. So, each year the club honors someone in the law enforcement community who has gone beyond what is expected to keep the city safe.

That honor goes to Corporal Anthony Gillard.

APD officials say Gillard was nominated for this honor because he is an energetic, hard worker. In face, his superior officer says when a job is entrusted to Corporal Gillard, he knows it will be done.
