LaSalle Deputy Arrested for Dometic Abuse & Rape

A LaSalle Parish deputy is arrested for domestic abuse and forcible rape.  He’s 52-year-old Clarence Breland Jr. of Jena.  Sheriff Scott Franklin says he’s been on the force for about one and a half years.

As with all these cases, buy the investigation is with Louisiana State Police (LSP).  The investigation began when LSP received information and a request from the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to investigating an alleged rape and domestic abuse incident involving one of their deputies.  LSP detectives immediately began an investigation by conducting interviews and gathering forensic evidence.  After the preliminary investigation was complete, LSP detectives obtained an arrest warrant and arrested Breland.

Yesterday, Breland was taken into custody at the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the LaSalle Parish Detention Center without bond.
