LA SoS Named Nat’l Assoc. of Secretaries of State President

Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler is named president of the National Association of Secretaries of State.

The NASS completed its annual meeting with induction of Schedler and others as national officers. Schedler says he highlighted Louisiana cuisine by serving gumbo and emphasizing his recipe for success.

Secretaries of State are involved in elections, civic education, business services, and international issues.

Schedler becomes the second Louisiana secretary of state to take over the national group. That previous president was Wade Martin, who served in the forties.

Schedler is a former state senator.
