LA Nat’l Guard Soldiers Return from Kuwait Today

Family and friends welcome Louisiana National Guard soldiers home from Kuwait. The 844th and the 1021st Engineer Companies are coming home today.

The 844th is based in Pineville with two detachments in Ruston and Monroe. They deployed 160 soldiers to support Operation Enduring Freedom. They conducted operations to maintain and upgrade base camps.

And, they’re glad to be home.

The ceremony was held at Camp Beauregard.

These soldiers have been deployed for state responses, including five hurricanes, the BP spill and the flood three years ago.

There are waves of soldiers returning today and tonight all over the state.
