LA Legislature Rejects BESSIE Spending Plan
The state board of education, known as BESSIE, goes back to the drawing board for allotting funds to public schools. The legislature rejected the board’s first allotment.
The board of elementary and secondary education has approved a new formula for handing out public funds. It’s around three billion dollars, which represents a 100 million more than last year.
