Jewish Temple Celebrates 155 Years
The Jewish Temple of Alexandria celebrates over the weekend. The historic congregation is now 155 years old. A plaque was placed near the building and the facility is now on the historic registry list.
The entire community was invited to tour the temple, hear its history and celebrate its enduring place in Central Louisiana.
The temple was designed by Max Heinberg. The temples of light in the building reflect the sunlight and include elements of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
