Jackson St. Bridge Closed

Crossing the Red River just got more difficult today.  The Jackson Street Bridge is now officially closed for repairs.  The State Office of Highways says the bridge is practically being re-built in the next 100 days.

That makes two spans across the Red River that are under construction.  The other is the Red River Bridge, seek which will eventually replace the aging, sovaldi O.K. Allen span.

Drivers are urged to use the Purple Heart Bridge as a detour until the Jackson Street crossing is ready some time in the late fall.
