Hurricane Season Predictions

Forecasters say it’s going to be a busy hurricane season. That’s thanks to warmer-than average water temperatures.

Meteorologists say we can expect between seven and eleven hurricanes this year. As many as six hurricanes are expected to be major storms.

“The ability to have another Sandy in the same location a year later exists,” says Joseph Nimmich with NOAA. “This is a very dangerous hurricane season and if you are not prepared and you don’t listen to the warnings and the evacuations, you are likely to be a statistic.”

Hurricane Season officially runs June 1 through November 30th.
