Guest Reader Program Welcomes Fire Chief Bernard
Another guest reader is participating in a local church’s summer program. This is Christian Love Baptist on Hudson Boulevard. Their summer reading program encourages children to develop a love for books.
This morning, Alexandria fire chief Wesley Bernard selected books to read to the children. The program directors say children associate the love of books with community leaders who also find them important and, as a bonus, Bernard arrived with a fire truck, and the children were given a tour.
