GAEDA Considers Affordable Housing Business

gaedaAn economic development group is hiring a consultant to consider getting into the affordable housing business.

The Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority (GAEDA) has hired Willie Spears to look over the proposal. He is under a $36,000 contract over a six-month period if the GAEDA board approves the project when it meets for a retreat. That is set for February 28th at the Diamond Grill at 9 a.m.

Organizers say the group’s primary funding comes from a tax on hotels.
