Quincy Richard Senior of Opelousas was convicted of conspiring to receive bribe money last August.
A former school superintendent candidate, who was supposed to pay the bribes in return for support, testified against Richard.
Richard was sentenced in a federal court in Lafayette, and will also pay a ten thousand dollar fine. Richard will also pay a 10-thousand dollar fine.
