Five Fatal Crashes during Fourth of July Weekend

class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-29879″ style=”margin: 4px;” alt=”LAStatePolice” src=”http://klax-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/LAStatePolice.gif” width=”140″ height=”142″ />During the 2013 Fourth of July holiday weekend, Louisiana State Police investigated 5 fatal crashes resulting in 6 deaths.  Three of the six people killed were not wearing seat belts and one of the crashes involved impairment. Troopers are urging motorists to abide by the laws of driving sober and properly wearing seat belts.

Troop A (Baton Rouge):  NONE

Troop B (New Orleans):  NONE

Troop C (Houma):  Two crashes resulting in two deaths. A seat belt was used in one crash but troopers were unable to determine if a seat belt was used in the other crash.  Toxicology tests are pending.

Troop D (Lake Charles):  NONE

Troop E (Alexandria):  One crash resulting in one death. A seat belt was not used. A toxicology test is pending.

Troop F (Monroe):  One crash resulting in one death. A seat belt was not used. Impairment is suspected.

Troop G (Shreveport):  NONE

Troop I (Lafayette):  One crash resulting in two deaths. A seat belt was not used in one of the deaths. Toxicology tests are pending.

Troop L (Mandeville):  NONE
